Curriculum

Performing Arts

The main aims of the Performing Arts Department at The Valley are to develop individuality, encourage creativity, and inspire pupils to think and express themselves with flair and confidence.

In drama, pupils are given opportunities through practical role-play and written drama activities to experience the world around them and begin to appreciate situations from more than one perspective. Through drama, we encourage pupils to question and challenge their perception of the world in which they live, and promote tolerance and understanding.

In music, pupils are given opportunities through practical work to develop their keyboard, vocal and ukulele skills and to compose and perform in a range of styles of music.
